John Stossel is a libertarian TV journalist – currently a syndicated columnist and Fox News Contributor. Prior to joining Fox, John co-anchored ABC’s primetime newsmagazine show, 20/20 and aired John Stossel prime time specials. Stossel began his career as a business-bashing consumer reporter calling for government regulation. But when he saw that regulation fail, he woke up and started reporting the wonderful things that free markets create: prosperity, innovation, choice and freedom. His first special, Are We Scaring Ourselves to Death?, examined exaggerated fears over risks such as crime and pollution. Stupid in America examined problems in government-run schools. The specials earned Stossel uncommon praise: "the most consistently thought-provoking TV reporter of our time" and “has the gift for entertaining while saying something profound.”
After 28 years on ABC’s 20/20, he joined Fox Business Network to host his own show, which Fox titled simply: “Stossel”. In 2017, he created "Stossel TV" to make videos for the Internet in collaboration with like-minded groups like Reason.org in order to reach young people. Many of these videos get over a million views. He is a three time New York Times bestselling author. His latest book is “No, They Can’t, Why Government Fails- But Individuals Succeed”.
